Bands broke John #2011-12-16- Bands are poorly made. Mine broke after two months. The pullup bar.. even when properly installed doesn't seem safe to me.
Also, if you are a guy doing p90x, I don't think that these bands offer enough resistance. I am not a big guy, but I had to attach multiple bands to the same handles - and shorten the loop - to get a good workout. I'm not sure if the "real" p90x bands are better, but I was always disappointed with my workouts on these.
Dangerous, breaking bands Buckster82 #2011-11-16- Within two weeks of purchasing and using the bands, three have already snapped. It is not fun being hit in the face by the end of a resistance band that you're working out with. Also, the pull-up bar does not fit between doors if the wall is thicker than 6 inches, or if your trim around the door is thick. The pull-up bar left black marks on my newly refinished trim as well. I suggest purchasing a higher quality set of bands.

- I was really excited about this item, but when it arrived I found that I couldn't put it together because there were pieces missing (no washers). Also one of the foam grip pads was torn. The rest of the product looked fine. But I had to return the item. I was also a little bugged that I only received a partial refund on the return shipping cost.

- Dude, two of the bands broke almost immediately. Whatever, I'm going to have to return this, which is too bad. We're not bodybuilders with giant muscles so how lame is that?
Mr.T Mike "Mike" #2011-05-26- After doing a lot of online research and reading reviews I finally decided on a chin up bar to purchase. I was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness and easy assembly (tool included) of this item. It works exactly as advertised. I weigh 175 pounds so I don't know how well it would work for heavier people but it works great for me. I have used it every other day for about a month now and there are no scuffs or dings to my door frame and the locking nuts have stayed in place. The little gizmo that is included to slip between the door frame and wall won't work for me because my builder was not that precise so it won't stay in place but I'm just careful and make sure it is in place properly before I attempt to use it. It is supposed to hold it in place after you release from the bar but I have never had it slip or come away from the door frame without it so I suspect it is just an additional safety measure from the manufacturer.

- uickest delivery I have ever received. Good quality product. Hand grips are very comfortable. Nice that each band has own hand grips, this is important if you are using them for a program such as P90x because you need to be able to switch bands quickly.

It comes with mounting brackets that should be screwed into your wall after drilling eight quarter inch holes and installing wall anchors. However, I put it up without them and just used the door frame to support the bar. I'm sure it's not as safe, but it stays up just fine, and if it come down, your feet are only a foot or so off the ground. I'd recommend it as a much cheaper alternative for those who don't want to spend $70 or $80 on the P90 X bar.
